How is your child’s preparation for PSLE so far? Does your child need a recap of all the essential concepts COMMONLY TESTED in PSLE? Do you know some of the recent PSLE questions are similar to those tested in 2009?

What about exposing your child to non-routine, higher order thinking questions? These questions are often used as differentiators for scoring the top bands in PSLE. They are meant to stretch your child beyond his comfort zone for a breakthrough in his results.

To prepare your child for PSLE, we are running Pri 6 ‘Essential Concepts’ & ‘Power Up Heuristics’ Workshops on the first and last week of June school holidays.

3 DAYS x 3 hrs

This workshop helps your child with revision of Essential Concepts commonly tested in the PSLE. Your child will be guided step-by-step on the use of Conceptual Model Approach to identify concepts across various topics and solve problem sums with ease and confidence. ( P.S. We included PSLE questions as far back as 2009)

  • Fractions, Ratio, Percentage, Decimals and Whole numbers.

  • A 5-step problem solving framework (S.M.A.R.T) to help your child identify concepts and select heuristics confidently, so that your child can solve problem sums efficiently and accurately.

  • Equal Concept, One Quantity Equal, Total Equal, Difference Equal, All changed quantities before-after concepts, Remainder, Sets, Simultaneous, Units & Parts

1 DAY x 2 ¾hrs

This workshop exposes your child to a wide variety of non-routine, higher order thinking questions. These are often used as differentiators for scoring the top bands in PSLE to stretch your child beyond his comfort zones for a breakthrough in his results.

  • Knowing the concepts is one thing. Being able to select the right heuristics to solve the sums quickly (FAST) and accurately (CORRECT) is the game plan for acing the PSLE.

Topics & Concepts

  • P5 and P6 topics (All inclusive)

Heuristics (Based on MOE latest syllabus)

  • Conceptual Models
  • Classifying & Comparing (Before-After)
  • Identifying patterns and relationships
  • Assumption (vs Guess & Check)
  • Equations (Balance Beam)
